The Relationship between Age and Stamina in Sports

God has made us the same – we are born and then one day we get aged. As we age, our body also goes through many changes. Just like we have lots of energy to scream and run around when we are kids – it changes when we start ageing. Being a sportsman, you need to keep in mind that one day everybody has to get old and when the day comes, their limbs will become weak and they will not be able to perform the same way. Some changes in the body will be visible as you start ageing while others will be unnoticed.  Every sport needs stamina to play it. If you do not have the stamina then you certainly cannot play a sport.  Stamina, in technical terms is the ability to endure in a physical activity. Ageing affects the muscles which in return lower downs your performance.

The muscle strength and age

It is undeniable that there is a huge difference between the muscles of an old man and a young man. If you are an athlete, you might notice that as you age, your muscle’s power reduces drastically. By the age of 40, your muscle loses power. Athletes who are into workouts will notice changes but the ones who are non-athletes will experience it fully that their muscles are getting weaker.

Changes in diet and lifestyle

If you are an athlete then you must know the old saying – YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT. As you start ageing, start taking care of your nutrition. It is believed that people who eat too much of fatty foods and spices age quickly. Follow a good diet chart which includes a lot of fresh green vegetables and fruits. Take lots of vitamins and nutrients. And always remember to work out as the only way to stay fit is eating but burn it smartly in the gym.

So what if you are ageing? You can always follow good food habits and take lots of training in order to be a great athlete till your 50’s.
